Movement Specialist Program

The Movement Specialist Program is designed to retrain how your body moves, so the progress you make in physical therapy actually lasts.

Physical therapy creates real change in the body.
Your body begins to open up.
Movement feels easier.
There’s relief, and for the first time in a while, things start moving in the right direction.

But without learning how to maintain those changes, the body often slips back into familiar patterns over time.

That’s where this work comes in.

This approach focuses on retraining your movement patterns at the neurological level, so your body stops defaulting back into the positions that created the issue in the first place.

Instead of feeling like you have to manage your body, correct it, or constantly think about how you’re moving,
your body begins to work the way it’s designed to:

  • Alignment feels more natural

  • Movement feels more controlled and supported

  • Old patterns stop creeping back in

So the progress you’ve made doesn’t just feel temporary, it actually sticks.

What This Is (in plain language)

Think of this as the step after physical therapy.
Your Physical Therapist created the space.
Now we teach your body how to hold onto it.

This is a guided, hands-on approach to retraining how your body moves and stabilizes itself, so you don’t keep falling back into the same patterns.

You’re not just going through exercises.
You’re learning how to:

  • Stay out of the positions that created the issue in the first place

  • Control and support your movement more effectively

  • Maintain alignment without constantly thinking about it

This is what helps extend and reinforce the work you’ve already done in physical therapy, so it carries over more consistently into your daily life.

Think of physical therapy and the Movement Specialist Program as the perfect couple:
Physical therapy creates the change.
The Movement Specialist Program teaches your body how to keep it.

How It Works

This work follows a clear progression, designed to help your body not only change, but actually retain those changes.

All of this is done as part of a collaborative care approach alongside your Physical Therapist, ensuring that the work you’re doing is aligned, supported, and optimized at every stage.

Phase 1: Create Space

We address areas of restriction so your body
can access better movement options.

This often builds directly on your physical therapy work, when your body is already more open and receptive.

→ You’ll feel less tight, less compressed, and more mobile, often right away.
→ Movements that felt restricted start to feel smoother and easier.

Phase 2: Build Stability

Once that space is created, we teach
your body how to hold it.

Through controlled, intentional movement and targeted resistance, your body begins to develop strength and support in these new positions.

→ This is where things start to click.
→ You’ll feel muscles activating differently, more support through your core and joints, and a new sense of control in your body.

Phase 3: Reinforce + Integrate

We challenge and reinforce these patterns so they become more automatic and consistent.

The goal isn’t just to “do it right” in a session, but to have your body default to these patterns naturally.

→ Your body stops slipping back into old habits
→ Movement feels more stable, more reliable, and more effortless in daily life.

What Sessions Are Like

Each 60minute session is fully guided, personalized, and built around how your body moves.

This is not a generic program or a one-size-fits-all approach.

You’re working one-on-one with your Movement Specialist the entire time:

  • Receiving real-time cueing so your body understands what to do

  • Getting hands-on adjustments to help you find the right positions

  • Moving through a sequence designed specifically for your body

  • Reinforcing the exact patterns you need, nothing extra, nothing random

You’ll also receive simple, targeted at-home work after each session, so you can continue reinforcing these patterns between visits.

This level of guidance is what allows your body to change faster and more effectively, because you’re not left guessing what you should be feeling or doing.

Sessions are designed to build on your physical therapy work, so everything you’re doing feels connected and intentional.

What Makes This Different

This is not physical therapy. And it’s not personal training.
Physical therapy is designed to assess, treat, and resolve the issue.
Personal training is designed to build strength, fitness, and performance.

This work focuses on how your body moves and organizes itself underneath all of that.
It addresses the patterns your body defaults to, especially the ones that keep pulling you back into tension, discomfort, or limitation.
Instead of layering more exercises on top, we refine how your body is actually moving, so everything you’re already doing becomes more effective.

This is why:

  • Your physical therapy results are better supported

  • Your workouts feel more effective

  • And your body stops slipping back into the same pattern

Results

Progress looks different for everyone, especially depending on how long your current movement patterns have been in place.
But many clients begin to notice meaningful changes within the first few sessions.

You may experience:

  • Increased body awareness and a stronger connection to how you move

  • Less tension and compression in the body

  • More control and support through your core and joints

  • A greater ability to maintain alignment without overthinking it

With consistency, these changes become more natural and automatic, so your body starts to hold these patterns without constant effort.
